A blog is like a diary. Even if the entries aren’t about you, they still chronicle what you were thinking and what was happening in the world. I spent a little time going over my posts from ten years ago and enjoyed some great memories.

Maybe it’s because I get to see the sunrise in the morning now. Maybe the fact that I have more control over my days has something to do with it. I’ve always been grateful for so many good fortunes in my life, but lately that gratitude can bring me to tears. Look away – I’m a mess!

…That’s what Derek said when someone asked him how it’s going with our move to Wallaceburg. “All my stuff is here, everything I care about is here, so it must be home!”

This post is general and it’s personal. My former mother-in-law has had her life savings, and even her wedding rings, stolen by a couple of family members. Close ones. The ones she would never suspect would treat her like she no longer mattered. I would love to name them and shame them and hunt them down. But it’s not my place.
