First, They Take Toronto

Rogers Centre and the Aquarium are in clear view across the road from the hotel window

There was a time when Toronto felt like my city. Now, it’s a place to visit and get the hell out of before crowds or traffic eat us alive. Still, Erin Davis and I had a good stay and play (well, she worked!) in TO this week.

And tonight, we’re doing something fun and we might not even get out of bed to do it!

Erin and I are holding another Gracefully & Frankly Facebook Live, our first from my home in Port Stanley, ON. We haven’t settled on where we’ll set ourselves up but we are considering the guest bedroom, the Erinbnbee.

It makes sense. Envy Pillow is one of our podcast’s sponors. They’ve been with us right from the start and a highlight for both of us was meeting the EnVy Pillow creators in person for the first time at the conference in Toronto.

Kathy and Kim were there to take the stage at an entrepreneur’s event taking place one flight down, interviewed by Erin – yes, she was hosting the event a floor above, so we all ran down in between speakers and they shared their story. Their company is lean and ethical. The women explained how they developed the pillow and transformed it from memory foam to more sustainable and eco-friendly natural latex, along with all of the other materials they use. Erin and I admire them both so much for their integrity and commitment to the planet, and we are grateful for their support of Gracefully and Frankly.

I also got to meet Arlene Dickenson. She’s just as gracious and smart as you’d expect. She was on a panel led by Tony Chapman, an inspirational speaker who infused us all with optimism and hope. Here’s the world’s fastest selfie!

It was an incredible, enjoyable and ultimately exhausting day! And I wasn’t even working!!

We will have more stories to tell on our Facebook Live tonight at 7 pm ET. As soon as that’s finished, Erin and I are jumping in my car and heading toward Toronto again. We’re going to stay overnight at about the midway point – all to avoid a brutal early wake-up to get her to the airport. Thelma and Louise do the GTA – but with a happier ending and no Brad Pitt.

Meanwhile, we have been doing our best to help support the economy of Port Stanley (yeah, shopping!) and just relaxing. Gratitude for this time isn’t a strong enough word. See you tonight, I hope!

The live podcast was a 20 out of 10. Beyond perfection. Funny and real. You made each of us feel like we were sitting with you sharing laughs and conversation.
The Gracefully and Frankly podcast deserves the podcast of the year award.
