Unless the train is running, and apart from music, Port Stanley’s mourning doves make some of the most consistent sounds in this village.

A couple of summers ago, renowned Dovologist Ophelia Clutterbuck joined this site to translate the mourning dove’s mating call. Today, we have her back to translate, in real time, the cooings of the town crier – a mourning dove tasked with spreading bird news to his friends.

It appears the birds have caught wind of a new attraction on the harbour. Without further ado, I give you Ophelia Clutterbuck.
