Advertising works! We received a postcard-ad letting us know that Mama Earth organics is now delivering to our area, and I made my first order in less than 24-hours.
This is the $35 box. You can’t see it all. There’s an avocado in there, carrots and a couple of giant yams. Kale, celery, a cucumber and pea shoots are peeking out. They’re all from local farms, where possible, and brought right to the door. Mama Earth is a Toronto company that has just expanded into London.
Organic veggies are always more expensive than others. I’m more interested in the local, fresh aspect of the service than that it’s all organic, frankly. Weekly delivery turns out to be too much for these two people. We also eat a lot of fruit that we can’t get this way and I don’t have that many recipes for yams. I immediately used one in a big vat of soup. But the expansion of this friendly company into London is welcome. It’s a sign of things to come. I do enjoy visiting our local farmer’s markets but the option of having produce delivered is pretty sweet, too. Your yam recipes are welcome!
