I’ve taken a page from my CJBK co-host Ken’s workbook and scheduled myself off for a week, but spread it over two weeks. Not only do I get a good break but I get two two-day work weeks on either side. Yes, he’s a bit of a genius.
However, this vacation has turned into a staycation and while it is a little bit disappointing, I’m just going with it. I’ll spend time with a couple of friends, see my Ma and brother, and get out of the rigid routine I follow. That’s my goal of any time off so it doesn’t really matter where I spend it. This includes recharging my blog-post-writing batteries so I’m going to take a break from this space, too. However, I do want to let you know that I have a new bi-weekly column starting in Our London tomorrow so I hope you’ll check it out.
When my batteries are full, I’ll tell you more about why our vacation plans changed. We were heading out on a Hampton Beach road-trip again this year because we enjoyed it so much last summer. I had booked us in a converted school-house Airbnb and bought VIP tickets to a show. The moral of the story is: buy concert ticket, trip, and accommodation insurance. You never know when you’ll need it and it’s totally worth it when you do!
As always, I’m grateful that you visit my little page of musings and hope you’ll come back for something fresh on the 17th.
Relax. You deserve it (like no one I know).
