Reaction to our first CJBK Mean Texts video was terrific, so we are back with a second instalment.
Truth is, there are much meaner ones. But they wouldn’t be funny. In fact, they would probably be so shocking that a crisis team from Bell would be dispatched to keep us from jumping off the station’s roof. What we share in these videos are indicative of the tone of many of the critical tweets we get.
I do have to share a gem I received the other morning. Ken and I were talking about Elon Musk’s plan to send two space tourists on a trip around the moon and back. A text popped up: “FAKE NEWS! The Van Allen belts are impenetrable!” This isn’t true, of course. NASA was able to send Apollo missions through the radiation fields by going around the most dangerous part, which I kindly shared with our texter. The response was instant. “NOT TRUE! Moon landings were done on a soundstage. Directed by Stanley Kubrick. Why didn’t China or Russia go? FAKE NEWS!”
So, you know, there’s that kind of text, too.
LOVE THESE. Talk about taking away their power! And conspiracy theorists? So lame – except that the US President listens to one and believes what he says. What a time to be alive.
