How to Be (When I’m Being my Best)

Overtip. Greet children when you greet their parents. When you think of a compliment, say it.

Don’t take advantage when someone asks you for advice; criticize sparingly. People need to make their own decisions and their own mistakes. That’s how you learned, too.

A grudge is a secret dark spot you keep on your own heart; talk it out or let it go.

Sometimes a relationship is 80/20 your way, sometimes it’s the other way. If you’re always carrying the 80%, move on.

Give the benefit of the doubt. Don’t make it worse. Imagine if the other person never comes back. Ask yourself if you could live with the way you left things.

Read the room before speaking. Listening teaches you more than talking ever will. Everybody has a sad story that shaped their psyche and a burden they’re carrying behind their smile. Be kind. Be kind. Be kind.

  1. People are like a jigsaw puzzle, first impressions are merely the beginning to building the picture which changes throughout the course of life.
