Adulting is now a word. And adulting is hard. How does one adult? You did it today. You got up and faced Monday despite not really wanting to. That’s adulting.
A grade four teacher from London decided her students weren’t the only ones who deserved stickers for doing something well. Now her company, Peanut Parade, has taken off with her grown-up sticker collection.
Andrea’s sticker rewards are for the ordinary things we do, that we don’t really want to do. I’d like one for cleaning the cat litter boxes. Or for vacuuming, dusting or pulling weeds. Come to think of it, there is one for pulling weeds, as well as one for almost making it to the gym and for not eating the whole bag of chips.
The stickers are inexpensive and thousands have sold through Andrea’s Etsy shop. One of them will hit home for someone you know. Did she shave her legs today? There’s a sticker for that! The mundane becomes admirable when you’ve got a sticker to show for it. Why should kids have all the fun?
A very novel idea. Hopefully there will be one for walking the dog, taking out the garbage, and the lies husbands tell their wifes, “yes honey your right”.
