A tireless woman I know named Mandi was touring the London Food Bank a few years ago and noticed that in addition to all of the toiletries available, there were no feminine protection items. She decided to do something about it and Tampon Tuesday was born.
Tonight, I’ll be one of the ambassadors of a TT event in London. Although it started in the Forest City, the concept has spread to Barrie, Montreal and Toronto. Women get together, network, and do something good for our less fortunate sisters. And now some men join us, too. Everyone recognizes the need and I’m thrilled to have been asked to help.
If you’re in the London area and want to help, we’ll be at Earl’s Kitchen (1029 Wellington Road) from 5-7pm. Bring a box of something appropriate as a donation, and it will be gratefully received and donated. Thank you!
PS. I appear to have a flu, or flu-like symptoms and I’m home sick today, so I won’t be attending tonight. However, I do hope you’ll keep this need in mind the next time you make a food bank donation. Thank you!
