What can someone halfway around the world do about a senseless mass murder overseas? Nothing, really. And that’s what’s so damn frustrating.
Paris is the most beautiful city I’ve ever seen with my own eyes. Everywhere you look, there’s something wonderful to look at. The architecture, the markets, the train station, the tiny hotels, and even the little coffee shops are all entrancing. That won’t change, the people probably will.
CNN is reporting that one of the terrorists may have gained entry to France in October by posing as a Syrian refugee. Then again, they don’t yet know if the passports found near the bodies of the attackers are real or fake.
World leaders were gathering for a summit in Turkey when the news broke that Paris was under seige. France’s President cancelled his trip and declared a state of emergency. He calls the attacks “an act of war”. ISIS said the attacks were in in retiation for French-led attacks on Syria. Will the world finally wake up from its sleep and see that half-measures aren’t enough against this virus called ISIS? It’s way past time.
