Like a hunted wildebeast or the elusive sasquatch, capturing a two-year-old in the wilds of his own birthday party is not for the easily fatigued.
Ryker, Little Sister Tabitha’s son, is two. TWO! The universe conspires to put the world on fast-forward when it comes to the life of a child.
Because I don’t see him often enough, each time is a get-to-know-you-again session. I’d like that to change. So in a couple of weeks, the four of us – Mom Tabitha, Dad Nick, Ryker and I – will go to African Lion Safari for the day. Tabby and I haven’t been there since she was a little kid. I don’t know if Nick ever has. Ryker, no for sure. And they have three newborn elephants this year and they are notoriously good to their animals. Plus, I have a window lock that prevents anyone from accidentally rolling theirs down and having a camel head enter the vehicle.
Happy Birthday little guy! Grandma Lisa is going to try harder to see you from now on.
Wildabeast, please correct me if I am wrong, shouldn’t that be Wildebeast.
You are not wrong! I’ll fix it. Thanks.
