The world’s oldest woman can’t believe she has the title. Suzannah Jones turns 116 next month and she inherited the distinction after the death last week of a 116-year-old Michigan woman.
Born in 1899 in Alabama, Suzannah now makes her home in New York with family members. She was married once, briefly, and never had kids. Relatives say she was cooking her own traditional southern food until she turned 100. They also claim she eats the same breakfast every day: four strips of bacon, eggs and grits.
I know what my husband will take from this. Bacon leads to a long life. But for all we know, it’s the grits!
