Dish, the upcoming Rogers London TV show starring Donald D’Haene and me, is coming together. We have an intro concept, our first shows more-or-less mapped out and our sponsors in place.
My clothing sponsor is Style 360 – Selective Consignment on Springbank Drive. I’ve been a fan of the store, and its owner Bobbi Thompson, since it opened a few years ago. There are other designer consignment stores in London but Bobbi and her sister Tracey are pickier. They will reject your items if they’re not up to snuff, no matter how much you paid for them. I love that! You know you’re going to get something that looks perfect, for a fraction of its retail cost. To me, the best deal is a deal that doesn’t look like it was a deal. I don’t want cheap. I want expensive at a cheap price.
I have purchased dresses and sandals and tops that all scream “quality”, and you would never know I didn’t buy them new in a foo-foo boutique. Bobbi is going to dress me and – although this isn’t required – I will probably buy the stuff she puts me in. After all, if it looks good enough on me for TV, I ought to own it.
Style 360 used to be the city’s best kept secret but not anymore. I plan my visits strategically to avoid the crush of style-seeking women on a budget. Once I hit the airwaves in September (although we start shooting on Tuesday) I will have been styled and outfitted by Style 360 and Bobbi’s critical eye. It’s a relief to know I’m in such good hands.
If you’re on Twitter we would really appreciate a follow for our newborn Twitter feed: @RogersDish – thanks!
