As a general rule, I don’t believe in things I can’t see. Take from that what you will! And even though you “see” your dreams, I don’t put too much stock in them as being much more than a way to delete brain garbage while I sleep. Often times I can trace a theme or significant symbol back to something tangible from recent days.
But I had a dream last week that has stuck with me because it was so unusual, for me anyway. In the dream I was an item on a conveyor belt. I had an awareness that I wasn’t me, Lisa, riding a slow conveyor belt, like you’d find in a grocery store, toward the scanner, although I don’t know what I was. The belt was hundreds of metres long and the journey was a slow one. I never did make it to the scanner but along the way people, animals and inanimate objects either appeared overhead or leaned in to greet me. I didn’t move. I was on my back in a relaxed sort of birthing position! Celebrities, family, friends, a bear, a giraffe and others were all involved. I wasn’t feeling fear, as if I was heading into some sort of torture chamber, but I also wasn’t as happy as Maggie Simpson when she’s scanned in the opening scenes of the Simpsons!
Dreams are often weird and disjointed. It’s not usual for me to have one that follows a seemingly long, uninterrupted thread. So please, consult your dreambooks and tell this eternal skeptic what it’s all about!
Clearly, without your full cognitive awareness you’ve embarked upon a steady and slow gradual journey where the end destination remains unfocused indicating a level of uncertainty and indecision as to the path you wish to follow as you continue towards that which you do not know.
… and it came to me in a dream!
A bear? Did you say a bear? What you experienced was a classic mono-directional conveyance with typical animal/human/insentient object distractions. The dream was about the bear. Had you continued to sleep, the dream would have progressed to the point where the bear would have put you on his back and carried you to your nearest convenience store where he would have coached you through selecting winning 6/49 numbers for the next draw. It’s unfortunate you chose to awaken prematurely but it’s possible the dream will reoccur. In the event that it does, have a pen and paper handy to write down the numbers you select with the bear (have the pen and paper in real life, not in the dream) and try to sleep a little longer. Best of luck!
I have no expertise. Can it simply be imploring you to enjoy the ride? The birthing position to me implies you’re in a position of growth or new beginnings. You’re on the cusp of something and you’re supported by everyone who knows you, as you make your way towards it. Now what is “it”, I wonder? Be open to everything!
PS – if you’ve discussed this on the air, I have an honest-to-goodness dream analyst whose info I can pass on to you. Patti Allen is amazing!
We haven’t but maybe we will. I’ll look her up – thanks!!
