…for Tim Hortons. I don’t think that jingle has been in use for some time, but when it comes to helping children, maybe you’ll make a little time.
Today is Tim Hortons Camp Day. This is the day when 100% of coffee sales proceeds go directly toward sending kids to camp. Kids who wouldn’t otherwise get the opportunity to experience camp. Seventeen-thousand kids, last year, because $11.8-million was raised on Camp day.
Free-FM will be spread out across the city at different stores at different times but The Big Show will be helping out at the 1200 Commissioners Rd E location from 11-noon. If you want to know more about how the money is used, click HERE.
There is another fundraiser going on in London for the 10-year-old boy who was rescued from a squalid room in the home of his aunt and uncle. The Children’s Aid Society of London and Middlesex has put a trust fund online and proceeds from it will be given to the lad when he’s placed in a permanent home. CAS says he wants to go to school, has a good appetite and is making friends with other kids in his foster home. The story is beyond horrific. When police broke in and found him, he was covered in pee-soaked pyjamas, had long, scraggly hair and was malnourished. CAS has had loads of inquiries about adopting him and just asking how to help him, so they put up the donation site titled, From London With Love. You can view it HERE. When something so horrible has happened to someone so innocent and helpless, right-thinking people want to help and this is a way to do it. We can figuratively wrap our arms around a little being who hasn’t had a good hug in a long time.
