A robber in southern Spain got a shock this week when he went through the loot he took from a home burglary.
Along with the gizmos he grabbed from the house was a stack of tapes and a camera. On the tapes were home videos of a man sexually abusing boys. The burglar packaged them up and sent them to police with a note reading, “I’ve had the misfortune that these tapes have fallen into my hands and I feel obligated to turn them in so that you can do your job and put that (expletive) in prison for life.”
Police arrested the 64-year-old robbery victim at his home and unearthed more tapes. Turns out the man’s a childless soccer coach who would bring boys back to his home and, well, you know the rest.
The burglar still hasn’t been caught. In the eyes of the law, turning over the tapes doesn’t right his wrong. But there’s no question about who’s the bigger criminal scumbag.
