There’s nothing quite like being part of a morning show to bring out the kid in you. We kicked Halloween up a notch in several different ways. First, we posed as a rock trio that’s about to perform here.
It’s ZZ Top in case that’s not obvious!
Then we posted our pumpkin race video. Each of us customized a pumpkin and set it afloat in the Thames River in a race for nothing more than bragging rights. Blair’s and mine both got caught up on a downed tree! But it was good fun.
And last but perhaps least, I challenged myself this week to record a song as banal and ridiculous as Rebecca Black’s “It’s Friday” and the current dumb YouTube sensation, “Chinese Food” by Alison Gold. For that, I had to write simplistic lyrics and sound like a preteen. I’m told it worked. It’s so bad it’s good. But I refuse to make a video for it! It’s mercifully short. I can’t understand how I can hear perfect pitch but I can’t deliver it.

And that’s how a morning show, or ours at least, marks Halloween! Big fun. Big effort. But mostly big fun.
Loved the Candy Bag! Sounded like a kid – well done! (Sorry about your pumpkin, pumpkin. Somewhere a duck has found the neatest boa, ever.)
Thanks to our producer Rob who pushed up my vocals to make me sound like one of those silly teens. The straight singing was just…sad!
