If I could save time in a bottle I’d give it to my husband so he could get more hours inside the 1969 Airstream we”re renovating. I say “we” even though I haven’t done a thing yet! I’m involved in decisions but no actual effort until after the grunt work is done.
Our plans and schemes evolve and morph as we go and as Derek does more research into what others have done. We’re finding what we like and don’t like but there’s so much more to do than select colours and materials. Three water tanks – fresh, gray and black – have to be embedded into the structure. We need hydro, a generator, heater, air conditioning and more. So job one is taking it back to the bare bones. This is how it looked inside.
And after considerable effort from my husband and brother, it became this.
All of the wiring has to come out as well as pipes and the whole thing must be redone! Good thing it’s a challenge and not a chore. We still have our eyes on the prize and expect this job to take a few years. Stay tuned!
Wow! Think of what you will have to enjoy when you “retire”! Or slow down—
So this will be like the garage project, with a couple of major differences, no city planners, engineers or architects delaying or impeding your efforts.
This is the idea! Fingers crossed. And longer term.
