Derek put it best: “It was only a matter of time!” We attended Hogtown Cycles’ first anniversary celebration and co-owner Mike casually said, check out the bike on the end.
Next thing I knew I was sitting across from Mike’s desk, filling out some paperwork because the bike was mine! I’m not sure why I’m not smiling in this photo but I didn’t know it was being taken.
By the way, that’s not a Hooters T-shirt I’m wearing. That says Hogtown! Same logo style though. It catches the eye doesn’t it?
So B3 is a 2006 Yamaha V-Star 1100, 2 years older than B2 but with a lot more power. That’s important especially for highway driving which I tend to avoid right now. This bike is still kind of old school. I still don’t have a fuel gauge! But it fits me well and it has some extra chrome detail, fancy pipes and Mike is throwing in a set of soft saddlebags. It also has very low mileage and has been fully serviced. It’s also beautiful. The paint is black with some deep grey detail in it. Another important detail is the floorboards. When you have only foot pegs you have just one way to rest your feet. With floorboards, you have options.
The deal should be done this week. I took the decals off B2 and Derek removed my backrest and anything else I added after the fact. She’s good to go. I knew that once I found the right bike I wouldn’t feel bad about B2 going to someone else. Bring on B3!
Hi Lisa,
Yes it is a beauty…I think I like it better than the last one you were thinking about. Meant to be 🙂 You’ll have a blast buzzing around town and country in this ride, I’ll bet. If only the weather would really co-operate. Enjoy!
Thanks Brenda! I went and picked out saddlebags today and I was almost giddy.
