You have to wonder why some products don’t make it over the border. Last night we met our friend Eddie for dinner in Port Huron – Ed lives in Detroit – and that meant a trip to Target to pick up the laundry potion upon which I’ve come to rely.
What could possibly prevent Canada from importing an inoffensive little product like Downy Wrinkle Releaser? Or, why would Downy not export it? It’s a wonderful liquid that greatly reduces the need to iron all sorts of fabrics. You spray it on and either smooth or shake (I shake) the garment and wrinkles disappear. Plus it leaves the clothes smelling nice.
I buy three bottles at a time. Our visit to Michigan came at the perfect moment last night because my third bottle was running on fumes. I can only hope that when Target opens here in March of 2013 they are allowed to carry this product. I joked to Eddie some time ago that the next time I saw him, I hoped he would be packing 3 bottles for me. Unbeknownst to me, Ed had made a special trip to Target to pick up the bottles but forgot them at home last night. I suspect he’s going to try it now and Downy will have another fan.
A lack of distribution, uses chemicals band in Canada, who knows! A similar question can be asked in the reverse, why are certain products which are available in Canada but not the US? The Canada US Free Trade deal, is neither definitive or absolute and as such there will be differences, hell there are even differences among our own provinces.
I’m crossing over next week so now I’m going to pick some up and try it – I HATE IRONING! I am excited to give it a try. Thanks Lisa.
I hope you love it too, Brenda. It’s best for things like T-shirts and lighter items but I use it on everything I possibly can.
