Yesterday I showed you the “before” from our main floor bathroom. Today, the project begins. Scott from Miracle Method was hard at work when we got home around noon on Thursday. They need two consecutive half-days in order to do the work. We had Thursday morning and Friday afternoon, when we would conveniently be on a road trip to Hamilton.
He was polite and neat. There was no mess outside of the bathroom and he had this monstrosity set up in order to take away most of the smell of the chemicals which they say are not harmful but who knows? They weren’t overwhelmingly bad. We left the window open and the fan on.
At the end of the process everything that was being resurfaced had a lovely white prime coat on it. And it sure did stink! But not for very long.
Everything that could possibly get sprayed was taped off and covered in plastic. The primed surfaces had to set overnight before process #2 could be done.
Fortunately we have a second bathroom so being without this one for a couple of days wasn’t a big hardship. If this had been our only loo it would have been troublesome. That’s where the one-day guys have an advantage. But one more day didn’t make much of a difference to us especially when they eliminated the need for ripping everything out and making a huge mess. Plus, who knows what’s under all of that stuff after so many years? A small job could end up being a big hassle. Every homeowner knows that!
Tomorrow, the finished product.
