Honey, you don’t look a day over 125.
Did you hear about the Ipsos-Reid survey results that came out this week? They put to rest the perception that we Canadians aren’t as patriotic as our American cousins.
Three-quarters of respondents said it should be fine to put our national symbol, the maple leaf, anywhere, even on underwear.
20% said they would consider putting a tattoo of a Canadian flag somewhere on their body.
And salmon was chosen by 55% as the quintessentially Canadian food. After that it was poutine, back bacon, Timbits, Montreal bagels and ketchup chips.
Beer was overwhelmingly picked as the national beverage.
So however you choose to show your pride at being Canadian – wave a flag, drink a beer, eat some salmon or get a tattoo – I hope you have a safe and happy long weekend.
