So many people still think there is an s at the end of the Saving in Daylight Saving Time. There is not. So I had an idea. Go with me on this.
I noticed a thread on Facebook recently in which people were talking about vegetables and writer after writer wrote brussels sprouts as brussel sprouts. So, okay, I know this is a bit of a leap but stay with me. I envisioned a campaign where we tie Daylight Saving Time to brussels sprouts! The poster would say something like, “That s you think belongs in Daylight Saving Time? It came from brussels sprouts!” Okay it needs some work. And it’s not as logical a tie-in as changing clocks and batteries. But I think I’m onto something!
Okay I’m not really onto something. I sure do wish people would just bother to take some care when they spelled these simple words! Sigh. Pass the brussels sprouts.
I have even a better idea. Given all the health warnings were given in the spring an fall when the clocks spring backwards or forwards respectively, and how many of us drag our asses around for several days as our internal clocks get realigned. Why not simply, come this fall, move all our clocks back 30 minutes and just leave them there permanently! This way you gain half the benefit in the spring and the other half in the fall.
Sorry, this suggestion won’t work, it’s based in common sense and we simply can’t have any of that!
I like it. It also contains fewer brussels sprouts which is a good thing. 🙂
