You probably have to know how to ride a motorcycle to fully appreciate this.
JP McArdle is one of the world’s top motorcycle riding experts. He is a 7 time International Overall Police Motorcycle Riding Champion and he performed his tight-space manoeuvres at our Hamilton show. One of our custom bike entrants a the Hamilton show – who won his division by the way – took this short video of JP doing tight turns in a small area. This is very, very difficult to do. Usually you’d want to put out a foot to steady yourself but he’s as smooth as silk. Turning around in a small area is not easy at all, JP just makes it look that way.
I was the queen of the wide turns when I started riding. I’d avoid turning around to the point where I would rather go all the way around the earth than attempt a U-turn! I had some time to talk to JP about technique and he practised for hundreds of hours to be able to do what he does. He said he would spend an entire day in a parking lot just doing it over and over again until he got it right. What’s not captured here is when he brings the huge Harley to a full stop and just sits there in perfect balance for a couple of seconds. Incredible skill!
Yeah, that guys’ riding skills are through the roof. And the loudmouth who was telling people he could do a better job with more flash and tire squealing had bullshit skills that were through the roof!
That loudmouth is what I like to refer to as a “douchenozzle”.
