Here we go – the London World of Motorcycles Expo is on this weekend. Today is move-in day where a 110,000 square feet are measured off and occupied by pros, newbies, motorcycles, trailers, pop-up tents and racks of leather. Every year it gets bigger. This year I took over responsibility for registering custom bike builders and it’s been an education! You can set every deadline, ask for every detail, hope for some sort of hope of organizing things in an understandable fashion and there will always be those who think the rules don’t apply to them. They’ve got to be the same people who idle outside of mall doors in tow-away zones and put 20 items on the 8-items-or-less belt in the grocery store. One guy got so nervous about showing his bike for the first time that he started anxiously taking chrome parts off to polish them until his bike was in pieces on his garage floor. He won’t make it to the show this year!
It’s going to be a terrific weekend. JP McArdle will be back showing off his expert riding skills. We’ll have the annual bike auction, swap meet, show-and-sell, demo rides and so many other fun goodies in the sold-out show. Friday night is ladies night where women get in half-price and have a chance at winning great door prizes. Electro-Motive workers also get in for half price all weekend. Agriplex. London. Our second home!
I miss riding with my best girl, B2.
