I don’t think I need to explain much further except to say that it was me and me alone and a very slippery Springbank Drive at 8 am Saturday. I’m just grateful that no one else was involved and that the only casualty was my Xtrail. And I don’t blame the road. I was obviously going too fast for the conditions, even at less than 40 km/hr. My insurance company doesn’t blame the road either, unfortunately.
I’m lucky the winding drive was mostly abandoned at that time and that the guardrail I struck kept me from tumbling down a steep embankment. The impact sent me sliding backwards and landed me facing in the opposite direction. I only had time to say “oh shit” and my mouth formed a little “o” as my next thought was, I hope to heck I don’t go down that hill!
I don’t have a photo of how it looks at the moment with packing tape holding the lights in place and the bumper up. When I look at it I just think, this is worth writing a Jeff Foxworthy-style redneck joke about!
Oh – so glad you’re safe and that your sense of humour is intact. Sorry to hear of your ordeal; hope WOMEX went well otherwise. Sending warm thoughts xo E.
Ouch. That looks painful. Glad you’re ok and avoided the embankment.
That hill bothers me on a good day, never mind in this weather. One of the reasons we didn’t buy in that area 🙁 I am so sorry for you, but glad you are OK and hopefully your car will be again soon.
Ah Crap !
It gets worse Jeffy. They gave me a Dodge Caravan in the meantime! So if you know any kids who need a ride to hockey practice…..
The important thing is that you weren’t injured, thank goodness. Sending you positive vibes . . .
ouch… Hey Derek. Get out the duck tape and “Git er done!”
