Much has been written about soul-less Ponzi schemer Bernie Madoff and his ravenous greed. However, a new book aims to give us an inside look at Bernie’s entire family and how disgusting, sad, mean and gluttonous they all were, as a unit.
“Truth and Consequences” has a perspective that previous books on the Madoffs didn’t have. Bernie’s wife, Ruth, and son Andrew cooperated with the author on it and offer rare insight into the deep dysfunction that created one of the world’s most hated families. It looks fascinating. Here’s what the New York Post’s reviewer says, in part:
“Taken side by side with another tell-all released earlier this month, “The End of Normal” by Bernie’s daughter-in-law, Stephanie, the family comes across as vain, greedy, dysfunctional, and deserving of their misery and each other. No one comes off as sympathetic — not Mark, the son who ended his life in shame, not his wounded widow, not Bernie’s slighted wife, no one. They’re quite possibly the most disliked family since the Mansons.”

From Bernie’s 16-year affair behind his wife’s back to his deliberate interference in his sons’ lives as he pitted one against the other, this was clearly not a man who made one bad decision to bilk investors, resulting in a prison sentence of 150 years. It was his way of life. I tend to avoid tell-alls on super-bad people but this one looks intriguing. The entire family is such a mess. Gobs of money solve nothing when you’re worthless turds who feel entitled to climb on the backs of others to maintain the illusion of power and stature. This man should be on every poster for every Occupy movement across North America. He represents the worst of the so-called 1%. May he rot in his cell.
