Sunday, we’re riding in support of the Brain Tumour Foundation once again.
This year the ride starts and ends at Forest City Honda. Also this year, it won’t rain harder than it has since the great floods. Last year only about half a dozen of the bravest souls – me among them – went on a short ride in the driving rain, just so we could say we did. If Iron Butt Rider Thane Silliker hadn’t been leading the pack, I would have hidden in the washroom to avoid going!! But he would have noticed. (And I’m only kidding. Sort of.) So I’m watching the long range forecast and so far it’s calling for a cloudy day with a high of 19 degrees which is just about riding perfection, to me.
You don’t have to be a rider or even a passenger to take part. For $20 non-riders can have the long-sleeved T-shirt, the hot lunch, the music by Hurtin’ Merv and a chance at some wonderful prizes. It’s going to be such a great day! Sunday September 25th, registration at 9 am, kickstands up at 10:30.It’s a terrific cause and they happen to be a great bunch of people. Hope to see you there!
