We are just back from Sharon, Ontario, for what started out as a small family get-together but grew into The Rolling Stones playing for the entire town. Well, not the actual Rolling Stones, but a motley crew of brothers and acquaintances jamming their own versions of classic-rock classics. They call themselves the Dust Monkeys because they jam every Tuesday night in a dusty room at the Toyota plant.
(Band not exactly as shown.)
As one of the non-playing siblings, Derek inherited the role of sound engineer, along with his trusty apprentice, nephew Brandon.
We hung out with family and non-family, laughed our heads off and rocked to the band. After a wonderful BBQ the sun came out for almost 4 minutes! But even though the great golden orb didn’t join us, we still had a terrific day.
