The first annual Bikers for Brains ride goes today. Funds raised support the Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada.
The Foundation is there with support, advice, information and resources when a family is dealing with a member who has a brain tumour. Their annual walk/run event is the Spring Sprint but October is Brain Tumour Awareness month and – let’s face it- it gets crushed on a publicity level by Breast Cancer month. I don’t believe it has to be one or the other so I support both.
I’ll be riding B2 today on a 2.5 hour trip through the country with a stop for refreshments in Strathroy. We’ll come back for a chili lunch and live music by Hurtin’ Merv and the Painkillers. It looks as if the weather may be good to us today. As I write this, there’s a light shower but it’s supposed to clear up for most of the day. Yesterday it poured steadily from dawn to dusk so I consider us lucky! If you’d like to know more about the ride look for Bikers for Brains on Facebook.
