Today is the day! It’s the occasion of the First Annual Motorcycle Ride for Autism for which Derek and I are on the organizing committee.
For $20 bucks riders (and $5 for passengers) get a chance to win $500 in cash. We’ll go on a nice ride in the country and stop at Coyle’s in Tillsonburg where they’ll have the coffee on for us and a special deal or two. Then we’ll come back and for another toonie or so, have a BBQ lunch prepared by the Hyde Park Lions. We’re even giving away racks of ribs and sauce! It’s going to be a great day and we really hope there’s a good turnout. Feeling spontaneous? Join us at Rocky’s Harley Davidson in London by 11 am. Don’t want to ride but want to help? The Lions will start the BBQ for noon and keep it going while we’re on the road for visitors to Rocky’s who are peckish. Get more details: www.autismride.ca
5:45 pm. We didnt know what to expect or whether we would even make any money this year but we had more than 30 riders and raised nearly $1800. A great first ride especially considering it was cool and drizzly. The sun came out just as we returned for the BBQ and prize giveaways!
