Something wonderful happened this week.
Two of my paintings were accepted into an exhibition at an art gallery in May. I’ve never painted to a chosen theme before, in this case, the number 22, and I’ve never displayed my work publicly before. One of my ’09 resolutions was to submit some work to a juried art show and see if they were accepted. I promised myself that my self esteem wouldn’t live or die by the decision but I have to say that I’m pretty happy that the answer was a yes!
The two one-foot-by-one-foot abstracts will be among many others at the JMR Gallery in Bayfield Ontario, beginning May 22nd. I’m still shy about posting photos of them here because they have a lot of texture that doesn’t show up in pictures and I really feel that photos don’t do them justice. Meanwhile, I’ve been asked to submit other pieces for future exhibits, too. Oh, and my prices just went up! Tee hee.
Congratulations! I vaguely recall a suggestion, that one way of getting your fine works out there would be to consider a virtual gallery. Well the only thing better than a virtual gallery, is a showing in an exhibition in a real gallery. 2 thumbs up!
