If I had a dime for every person who has asked me what it’s like doing a morning show again I’d have about 60 cents!
The 1039FM morning show is a completely different animal from the 680 News morning show. For starters, I’m only filling in, here. It’s very temporary. But there are other major differences; this one is music based and 680 is, as you know, all news. 680’s intensity is at 11 on a scale of 1 to 10. 1039’s never gets up past 6.5. Because I’m playing music here, there’s actually time to run out to the little girls room if I need to, which wasn’t always possible at 680. Also, my alarm is set for 4:15 not 2:30. So other than the fact that it’s mornings and it’s radio, it’s really a different world and it’s a fun one at that.
The other thing this show doesn’t have is my old team, whom I miss terribly. Here, I work with one other person who’s really great, but that’s another difference.
Thankfully I still get to start my day with a ridiculously large cup of Tim’s coffee. Some things are universal, no matter where you’re hanging your headphones.
