Real Women Magazine is behind a fresh holiday drive for kids in the care of Children’s Aid.
Instead of a toy, they want you to give a new pair of pyjamas. Remember putting on fresh jammies at Christmas and the warmth and tradition of it all? There are thousands of children under the watchful eyes of Children’s Aid who won’t have much warmth or joy over the holidays and a new pair of PJ’s is a small but meaningful way to bring it to them.
I’m so proud to be associated with Real Women and to be writing for them. Account Manager Anne-Marie Bacon literally dreamed up this campaign of giving and it’s gathering steam…or flannel. Little kids, middle kids, teens – they need PJ’s and they can be dropped off at Scholar’s Choice (3 locations in London, Conestoga Mall in Waterloo and 3145 Dundas West in Mississauga), Children’s Aid of London and Middlesex, Peel Children’s Aid, Family and Children’s Services of Waterloo Region or at the drop-box at Masonville Place. I bought a pair for a teen girl. They’re a bit fuzzy and they have snowflakes on them. They remind me of the kind of jammies I could spend the whole day in over the holidays!
PJ’s for Kids is a sweet idea with a tangible outcome: a kid whose world has been turned upside down, wrapped in the warmth of a stranger’s generosity.
