Art, at its essence, can be difficult to describe. What moves one person might leave another feeling meh. And trying to explain what it feels like to create art is a challenge. I’ve likened it to feeling like I’m flying. But I’m not a prolific artist. It turns out that Jim Carrey is.
In this six-minute video, Carrey paints in his New York City loft and provides a voice-over about what it means. I found it beautifully inspiring and captivating. If you read the comments, you’ll see that some cynics find it pretentious. Regardless, it’s also a showcase of Carrey’s artistic talents and worth watching just to see another dimension of this comic actor we thought we knew. Enjoy.
