Best Mailed Plans

I can’t think of another time I’ve ordered something online and it’s gone this wrong.  I don’t think the way I ordered it is the problem. The problem is the company I ordered it from.

I purchased a specially decorated onesie on Ebay for grandbaby Ryker’s first birthday with loads of time to spare.  The white garment arrived from the UK  in plenty of time but the seller had wrapped it in red tissue paper and somehow it had gotten wet. The white onesie had red slashes on it from the dye.  I emailed the seller and said, look, I’ll try to wash it but this isn’t good. She wrote back saying “thanks for letting us know!” That was my first indication that I was dealing with an idiot.

The dye wouldn’t wash out, even with the use of a bleach pen. I sent her photos she requested and asked her what she would do. She said I could mail it back and she’d replace it. A quick check of the calendar showed the switcheroo would never make it in time for the birthday.  I asked if she would please pop it in the post right away and take my word that I would send the other back. Nope. No way. That’s not how we do things. We have to see the original first.

In order to fully appreciate how poor this attitude is, you need to know that Ebay protects you from fraud. They guarantee you won’t be out anything from a purchase or a sale. I have a 100% satisfaction rating from my purchases and sales.  There’s no reason to doubt my honesty. It’s just shitty customer service and I told her so.

I had one hail mary left. Even though the label says Do Not Bleach I did so anyway and the little thing came out perfect. I spritzed it with some Downy Wrinkle Releaser to take away the bleach scent, hung it to dry and ironed it to a crisp. As they say in the World Cup: gooooooaaaaallll!
