An author I know (Kevin Shea) posted a thread on Facebook last week, asking about the biggest celebrity moment his friends have had.
Because Kevin’s books are about hockey I chose to tap out a couple of lines about meeting Bobby Orr at a fundraising skate at Maple Leaf Gardens 20 (gulp) years ago. Orr was always my favourite player and I not only got to skate around the legendary rink with him, he held my hand because I wasn’t the most stable of skaters. It was a few minutes of pure bliss!
Also last week, someone asked me if I had really met Donny Osmond and I said, Yes! Just go check the photo on my website! And to my chagrin, it wasn’t there. So I started digging for my old celebrity encounter pictures. I think of them as my personal World of Hairstyles.
