Another Twitter Winner

Still unsure about the value of Twitter? My (free) account paid for itself last week by reuniting me with an old friend.

Someone retweeted a tweet from Linda Poitevin who is a successful writer.  She has about 13,000 Twitter followers – a lot – and 2 best-selling books, so far.  What’s that got to do with me? Well Linda was my roommate in Prince George BC roughly a hundred years ago.  In fact I have about a half-dozen photos of that time (most were lost in a fire) and two of them are of Linda and her dog Rufus.   When we lived together with a third roommate, Sue, Linda talked about wanting to write.  We were in touch here and there over the years but lost track of each other several years ago. Now she’s Mom to three grown girls and a wife of 25 years, with this great career she’s always wanted. It was so exciting to see how well she’s doing and how popular her writing has become. We exchanged a few emails and have vowed to stay in touch.

Interested in reading her books?  Here’s a synopsis of the first one, Sins of the Angels, from her website:

Homicide detective Alexandra Jarvis answers to no one. Especially not to the new partner assigned to her in the middle of a gruesome serial killer case-a partner who is obstructive, irritatingly magnetic, and arrogant as hell. Aramael is a Power—a hunter of the Fallen Angels. A millennium ago, he sentenced his own brother to eternal exile for crimes against humanity. Now his brother is back and wreaking murderous havoc in the mortal realm. To find him, Aramael must play second to a human police officer who wants nothing to do with him and whose very bloodline threatens both his mission and his soul. Now, faced with a fallen angel hell-bent on triggering the apocalypse, Alex and Aramael have no choice but to join forces, because only together can they stop the end of days.

Ooooh.  I have it next up to read after the Janet Evanovich novel I’m currently enjoying, albeit at a snail-like pace.

And if you ever want to find me on Twitter you can use the handy button on my home page or just look me up: @lisabrandt1001

Who knows who we’ll meet there?

  1. Well, to this point I haven’t discovered the value of Twitter, not yet anyway. With the volume of daily tweets, you can very easily get lost reading through them as time flies by.
