It’s Not All Purrs and Snuggles

A kitty, who shall remain nameless, took her frustrations out on me yesterday.   I’ve got a case of Cat Scratch Fever!close-up of my right forearm with several long, red scratches on it

You never know what recently given-up or rescued kitties have been through. What people have done to these pets is almost unbelievable so choosing to hang out with them at the Humane Society has its risks!  This particular feline went a little wild as I tried to put her back into her crate so I take that as a compliment.  She was perfectly nice when we were hanging out together.   It was one of “those” days yesterday. Another cat went positively insane when I took her out to play.  She screamed so loudly, another volunteer came running from another room to see what happened.  That cat got her wish and stayed in her den.  One shredding a day is about all my tender skin can take!

  1. My own cats turned on my Mom once. She was trying to feed a pill to one of my kitties, who screamed, then the other cat came & attacked her. She needed a tetanus shot, and I had to provide papers saying they girlies had received their shots, etc.

Next time my Mom showed up to my place, it was like nothing ever happened… everybody went back to tummy rubs & purrs. 🙂

I don’t even want to think about how those poor creatures ended up there; I’d probably burst into tears. As domesticated as they are, they’re still animals, right?

What you are doing is wonderful… thank you from a fellow animal person. 🙂

    1. Thanks Stacey. The whole idea, as you know, is to get them socialized so they can go to good homes. The skin wasn’t even really broken and I will wear long sleeves from now on. I think I need to set aside a “cat shirt” to toss on while I’m there!
