A Lesson In Kindness

I don’t care what your job is, you never get enough praise.

Whether you’re pouring coffee or managing millions in stock portfolios, you don’t get told often enough that you’re doing a good job. Presuming, of course, that you are.

That plays into my theory of why some occupations pay astronomically well.  In general, the number of 0’s on the salary represent the amount of responsibility you carry, and that figure is your substitute for regular compliments.

But what about the rest of us?  A little notice can actually turn the tide on a person’s day.  But it must be genuine!  My message today is, if it occurs to you, don’t hold back. Don’t worry about embarrassing yourself.  Think instead about the emotional lift you’ll give to someone who just may really need it.
